Change Management

Making improvements in a live environment without disruption

Managing large, complex IT projects involves a lot. Whether you’re implementing new software, migrating systems, or making changes in a live environment, the risk of process disruption is always present. You want to avoid that at all costs. Our Change Managers take responsibility for making these complex changes smooth and controlled, so that your IT services continue to run uninterrupted.

What is Change Management?

Change Management focuses on planning, assessing, and authorizing changes to a live IT environment. Think about adding new functionality, modifying workflows, or improving existing systems. Whereas our Release Managers are responsible for bundling several changes into one release, our Change Managers ensure that the live environment itself is not disrupted while these enhancements are made. It’s a subtle but crucial difference. For example:

Release management

A new CRM system is being developed and prepared for implementation.

The existing CRM system remains functional while data is migrated, processes are modified, and users are trained.

Change management vs. data migration and implementation management

The process of data migration and implementation management is often intertwined with Change Management, but each plays its own role in the bigger picture:

  1. Data Migration:
This involves the secure and correct transfer of data from an old system to a new one. Our Change Managers ensure that this migration takes place without interrupting existing processes. Example: When migrating customer data to a new ERP system, we plan the migration during off-peak hours, supervise tests, and ensure that all data is transferred accurately.

  2. Implementation Management:
This involves the successful introduction of new systems or processes within an organization. Consider training end users, adapting working methodologies, and managing adoption. Change Management supports this process by minimizing disruption and keeping stakeholders involved.  Example: When implementing a new financial system, we ensure that existing payment flows do not grind to a halt while employees are incrementally inducted.

By having these disciplines work closely together, we ensure a streamlined process in which changes are implemented effectively, safely and without resistance.

Do you have a question?

Our colleagues are ready and happy to help you.

From chaos to control

We understand that IT changes in large organizations often require a delicate balance.
The challenges are not amiss:

  • Risks of process disruption in a live environment.
  • Complexity due to multiple stakeholders with sometimes conflicting interests.
  • Tight budgets and deadlines.
  • The human factor: employees resisting change.

Our Change Managers address these challenges structurally. What can you expect from us?

Engaging stakeholders

Everyone affected by the change, from end users to management, is given a place in the process. With effective communication and engagement, we remove resistance

Minimal disruption

Whether migrations, implementations or enhancements, we work closely with Release Management and other teams to keep disruption in your live IT environment to an absolute minimum.

You remain in control

How we make a difference

At musQueteer, we do more than just the technical implementation of change. We provide a clear, practical and people-oriented process that supports you as an IT manager. This means:

  • Keep your live systems running securely.
  • Stakeholders are informed and involved in a timely manner.
  • You as IT manager come out of the process stronger, both towards your team and the board.

Example: One of our clients, a large healthcare facility, needed to upgrade their digital patient records. By engaging our Change Managers, the old system remained available while we carefully planned and executed the transition. Employees received proper training and within a month the new system was up and running without disruption to care delivery.
